Description
This Bruhlié cuvée from Domaine Ruet comes from an exceptional terroir on the steep slopes of Mont Brouilly, on rare soils of bluish volcanic rock known as “diorite” or blue stone. This geology gives the wine a unique minerality and a very particular elegance.
Gamay, the emblematic grape of the Beaujolais, is elevated here by mature vines. Hand-harvested to preserve the integrity of the berries, the bunches are carefully vinified using traditional semi-carbonic maceration, respecting the aromatic typicity of the fruit while encouraging the expression of the terroir.
Ageing takes place in concrete or stainless steel tanks to retain the freshness of the fruit and let the finesse of the tannins shine through. The 2022 vintage, sunny yet balanced, gives a wine with a deep ruby colour and aromas of black cherry, blueberry, violet and light spicy, smoky notes. On the palate, the attack is clean, followed by a fine structure with ripe, supple tannins and a long, mineral finish.
This wine can be enjoyed now after light decanting, but will gain in complexity with a few years of ageing. It pairs wonderfully with roast white meats, fine charcuterie or matured cheeses.
