Corbières AOP – Domaine Sainte Marie des Crozes – Les Mains sur les Hanches – red

13,50 €

A lovely ruby colour, intense and brilliant. The nose is powerful and unusual, at first dominated by notes of cocoa, then evolving towards scents of nutmeg and chestnut. The palate, dense and fleshy, has a lovely softness on the attack and is dominated by very present yet extremely fine tannins. A fine acidity completes the remarkable balance of this wine, which is both long and elegant.

Excessive drinking is harmful to your health. Please drink responsibly.

Description

Run with fantastic energy by the young Christelle Alias, this  38 ha estate lies at the foot of the Montagne d’Alaric, in the northern and cooler part of the Corbières. In 1997, the vineyard was entirely restructured by Bernard, Christelle’s father, and is now farmed organically. Christelle joined her father in 2012 after a tour of the wine world and has clearly enjoyed creating her wines: there is a juicy vibrancy – she clearly favours freshness and elegance over extraction and power.
Punching down in temperature-controlled vats for 8 days, then ageing in new barrels of different toasts and woods until the end of malolactic fermentation, i.e. 2 months.
