Description
Le Fief Noir was founded in 2014 in Saint-Lambert-du-Lattay, in Anjou, by Dominique Sirot and Alexis Soulas. Their vineyard, of around thirty hectares, grows on the dark schists of the “Anjou noir”; it is certified organic and farmed according to biodynamic principles, with cover crops between the rows to encourage biodiversity.
Somnambule blends Cabernet Franc and Grolleau. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented with indigenous yeasts; the wine is bottled without fining or filtration.
The colour is ruby red. The expressive nose blends red fruit, strawberry and blackcurrant. The palate is supple and round, with a rich finish of blackcurrant and black cherry.
