Description
The Fleurie AOP from Domaine des 2 Fontaines is a sublime expression of the Gamay grape. Located in the heart of the Beaujolais, the Fleurie appellation is renowned for its exceptional terroir, made up of clay-granite soils that give its wines great finesse and undeniable elegance. This vintage, from the estate’s best plots, perfectly embodies this reputation.
The harvest is done by hand, with careful sorting of the grapes to guarantee the quality of the fruit. In the cellar, vinification follows tradition, with semi-carbonic maceration that extracts the delicate aromas of Gamay while preserving its freshness and liveliness. Ageing takes place in stainless steel tanks, a technique that retains the purity of the fruity aromas and the lightness of the wine, while ensuring a lovely roundness on the palate.
The colour is a bright, vivid red, and the nose offers a richly varied aromatic palette, with notes of ripe red fruit (raspberry, cherry) and delicate floral touches typical of Fleurie, such as peony and violet. On the palate, the attack is supple, with a round texture and good density perfectly balanced by fresh acidity and light tannins. The finish is long, marked by fresh fruit aromas and a lovely minerality that underlines the purity of the terroir.
This Fleurie stands out for its ageing potential, while already being perfectly enjoyable young. It pairs ideally with a wide variety of dishes: white meats, roast poultry, fine charcuterie or soft cheeses.
An elegant, expressive wine of great finesse, a perfect reflection of the soul of the Beaujolais.
