Description

“Pleine Terre” 2022 is an emblematic cuvée from Les Chemins de Bassac, an estate in the heart of the Languedoc, showcasing a pure and honest expression of Syrah, without artifice. This natural red wine, certified biodynamic (Demeter), is made with no added sulphites, in a spirit of total respect for the fruit and the terroir.

Terroir & viticulture

The Syrah vines are grown on well-drained clay-limestone soils, typical of the Puissalicon area (Hérault), enjoying a Mediterranean climate with maritime influences that temper the intense summer heat. The estate farms its vines according to the principles of biodynamics, promoting soil vitality, biodiversity and the natural balance of the plant. No synthetic products are used, and treatments are based on biodynamic preparations (horn manure, horn silica, herbal teas…).

Winemaking

The grapes are harvested by hand, with rigorous sorting in the vineyard. They are then partially destemmed and vinified in stainless steel tanks. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts, with no added SO₂. Maceration lasts around 3 to 4 weeks, with gentle pump-overs to preserve the integrity of the fruit.

After pressing, the wine is aged for 10 to 12 months in concrete vats, allowing gentle micro-oxygenation without any oak influence, which helps preserve the freshness and varietal typicity of the Syrah. No fining or aggressive filtration is carried out before bottling.
