Description
The red cuvée “Morogues” is made from 100% Pinot Noir from vines planted on Kimmeridgian marl and Portlandian limestone soil. Planting density is 7,500 vines per hectare over 5 hectares of plots for this cuvée. The vines are around 30 years old on average.
Winemaking: fermentation takes place naturally (indigenous yeasts only) during a 3- to 4-week maceration in wooden vats. Free-run and press juice are blended directly
Ageing: in wooden vats
Tasting: Fruit and freshness with a light tannic structure. The terroir of the village of Morogues, combined with rigorous work, gives us a fine expression of Pinot here. The complexity is definitely there, thanks to the blend of 3 plots on terroirs combining Kimmeridgian marl and Portlandian limestone. A fine wine that sometimes needs a little patience, but the pleasure is always there.
