Description
Les Chemins de Bassac – “L’Univers Parallèle” Red is an innovative cuvée that reflects the estate's creative spirit. This complex, structured red wine is the fruit of meticulous winemaking and of blending grape varieties from the terroirs of the Languedoc, where the Mediterranean climate meets the influence of the local hills, offering ideal conditions for optimal ripeness of the grapes.
The Les Chemins de Bassac estate cultivates its vines using sustainable farming practices and by encouraging biodiversity, in order to preserve the richness and balance of its soils. The grapes used for “L’Univers Parallèle” are harvested by hand, rigorously sorted and vinified with respect for the natural characteristics of the terroir.
This wine comes from a blend of several grape varieties, mainly Syrah, Grenache, which gives it great aromatic richness and complexity on the palate. After a maceration of several days to extract colour and primary aromas, fermentation takes place at controlled temperature in stainless steel vats to preserve the purity of the fruit. Ageing, which lasts several months, takes place mainly in stainless steel vats and oak barrels, to give the wine a silky texture while respecting its freshness.
Visually, “L’Univers Parallèle” shows a deep red colour with violet glints. The nose is intense, dominated by aromas of ripe black fruit such as blackberry and black cherry, along with touches of sweet spices, liquorice and a light note of vanilla from the barrel ageing. On the palate, the attack is supple and round, the tannins fine and velvety, and the well-integrated acidity gives the wine lovely freshness. The finish is long, with notes of candied fruit and a light touch of pepper that bring depth and complexity.
