Description
Philosophy and identity
The Responsable cuvée embodies Bruno Lafon’s sustainable, humanist vision: producing enjoyable, accessible wines while respecting the natural balance of the vineyard. The name echoes a responsible approach to viticulture — respectful of the soil, biodiversity and people. No synthetic chemicals, mechanical soil cultivation, harvesting at optimal ripeness and restrained winemaking to let the fruit express itself.
Grape varieties
A typically Languedoc blend — depending on the vintage, Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault dominate, sometimes complemented by Carignan. These grape varieties, vinified separately, convey the generosity of the South while retaining lovely aromatic freshness.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes are harvested by hand, partially destemmed, then vinified in concrete or stainless-steel vats. Macerations are gentle, at a controlled temperature (24–26°C), to preserve the crunchiness of the fruit.
Short ageing (6 to 8 months) in vats, with no oak, to retain the primary expression of the grape varieties and a supple texture.
Low sulphite addition at bottling.
Sensory analysis
-
Colour: Deep ruby, purple tints, lovely clarity.
-
Nose: Expressive and clean, with fresh red fruit (cherry, raspberry, redcurrant) lifted by notes of sweet spice and a hint of garrigue.
-
Palate: Supple, juicy attack, fine tannins, a digestible, fruity finish. The balance between indulgence and tension makes it a precise wine, without heaviness.
-
Profile: Fruity, fluid and sincere — a red for immediate pleasure, yet made with real rigour.
