Description
The Collines Rhodaniennes AOP – Pipelette from Rodolphe Duculty is a 100% Syrah red cuvée from young vines planted on the foothills of the northern Rhône Valley, under the IGP appellation. This terroir, at moderate altitude on granite and sandy silt soils, enjoys a temperate climate with continental influences, encouraging a slow, even ripening of the grapes, the key to vibrant fruit and lovely freshness.
The vines are farmed using sustainable viticulture, with rigorous plot-by-plot monitoring and moderate yields to preserve quality. The harvest is by hand or by machine depending on the plot, carried out at full ripeness. In the cellar, the winemaking is supple and fruit-driven: full destemming, a short temperature-controlled maceration and gentle pump-overs to extract without harshness. The wine is then aged in stainless steel vats for several months to preserve the aromatic integrity of the fruit and offer an accessible wine, free of artifice.
On tasting, Pipelette shows a bright ruby colour with purple tints. The nose, expressive and generous, reveals notes of wild strawberry and raspberry, with a touch of violet and sweet spices (white pepper, nutmeg). On the palate, the attack is supple and juicy, with a light body, silky tannins and a lovely tension that brings freshness and drinkability. The finish is clean, on crunchy fruit, with a light floral note.
Easy to pair, this wine is simply enjoyed with charcuterie, grilled meats, roast chicken, or even lightly chilled with a summer salad. Drink young, within 2 to 3 years, to enjoy its lively, fruity profile.
