Description
Mas des Agrunelles’ Barbaste Languedoc is made from 50% Chardonnay and 50% Roussanne.
Mas des Agrunelles lies north-west of Montpellier, on the Terrasses du Larzac. Unlike the typical wines of the region, Frédéric and Stéphanie craft delicate, subtle wines with gentle extraction. Rather than focusing on grape varieties, each of Mas des Agrunelles’ 12 cuvées showcases the terroir of individual plots covering 25 ha, with soil types ranging from fractured Jurassic limestone to red marl. Biodynamic principles are followed right through to bottling, which takes place on fruit days and, where possible, during a descending moon.
Stone fruit, quince, honey. Full, textured body with a lovely touch of freshness for balance.
