Description
Maison Charles Père & Fille is based in Nantoux, in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune. Pascal Charles and his daughter Pauline run a family estate of around 14 hectares there, which has grown from 3 hectares in 1960 to its current size, mainly in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, complemented by plots in Volnay, Pommard, Meursault and Beaune. Since 2016, a négociant business has extended that of the estate.
The Hautes-Côtes de Beaune stretch across the plateaux and combes overlooking the Côte de Beaune: a cooler, higher-altitude vineyard, well suited to fruity, easy-drinking Pinot Noirs. This Vieilles Vignes cuvée comes from old vines that produce a more concentrated wine.
The colour is deep ruby. The nose opens on strawberry and raspberry; the palate, ample and round, develops notes of candied and stewed fruit, carried by fine tannins and a long finish.
