Description
The Chénas AOP – Château Bonnet – Chat au Bonnet – red is an exceptional wine, offering a fine expression of the Chénas terroir. This cru, one of the smallest and most prestigious within the Beaujolais Protected Designation of Origin, reveals intense aromas of fresh red fruit, notably cherry, raspberry and blackberry, accompanied by subtle notes of liquorice, violet and light spicy touches.
Made from Gamay vines planted on granite soils and farmed using environmentally friendly methods, this wine is the fruit of sustainable viticulture. Carbonic maceration draws out fruity aromas and keeps the wine beautifully fresh and light. Ageing in stainless steel vats preserves the purity and finesse of the fruit, and the absence of oak lets this Chénas express all its minerality.
On the palate, this wine stands out for its silky texture, fine tannins and lovely acidity, which give it a balanced structure. Its finish is long and lingering, marked by red fruit flavours and a touch of sweet spice that adds complexity.
An elegant Chénas, to enjoy now or to cellar for 3 to 5 years to appreciate how it develops.
Food and wine pairings: Ideal with grilled meats, the pleasures of charcuterie or matured cheeses.
