Saint Véran AOP – Domaine de la Croix Senaillet – white

Description

The vineyards of the Saint-Véran appellation are mostly limestone soils, with clay found only at the tops of the slopes. This pure Chardonnay is a typical Burgundy: the emphasis is not on fruit, but on minerality and complexity. Yellow flowers, notes of peach, light spice, orange zest, and on the finish you can sense the subtle limestone soil. A great Burgundy at a moderate price, which is no doubt mainly because the village of Saint-Véran is not yet very well known for its wines. Domaine de la Croix Senaillet is a family estate run by Stéphane and Richard Martin. The estate has been certified organic since 2006.
