The oranges and ginger used in its production are smoked over a peat fire; the result is a tasting experience that is strictly unprecedented, a reflection of Islay’s values, for a rum unlike any other!
Tasting:
Amber, smoked orange zest, a note of candied ginger, liqueur and aniseed. Orange, dark chocolate and a hint of vanilla, star anise and several smoky spices on the finish.
Finish: like a “Christmas pudding” liqueur coated in deep dark chocolate.

In January 2022, the Vintage Malt Whisky Company decided to “twist” tradition by setting up a rum distillery in the holy of holies of Scotch: Islay.
Using the premises of a former lemonade factory and drawing on the experience of a young distiller, Ben Inglis, the Islay Rum project was launched.
The custom-made still allows triple distillation, producing a rum that has already won multiple awards.
