A family tradition – five generations of winemakers
From a winemaking family settled on the other side of the Rhône in Saint Laurent des Arbres, Bernard took the helm of the Domaine in 2002. After a spell in the City of London, he reconnected with his Mediterranean roots, continuing the work of his father Jean and his brother Frédéric to moor the ship on the left bank of the Rhône in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
In partnership since 2007 with Philippe Faure-Brac, World's Best Sommelier 1992, he has the privilege of working with one of the most discerning connoisseurs of the wine world, who is also a true lover of terroirs and winemakers.
Bernard Duseigneur
“Being winemakers is our daily pleasure; it is our way of living in harmony with our environment and our fellow human beings. It is an exciting profession that gives us the chance to share the pleasures of the table in a convivial spirit… The spark we see in our visitors' eyes is the best reward of all!”
Why “Catarina”?
Catherine of Siena, Saint and Doctor of the Church, is a central figure of medieval Catholicism. Under her guidance, Pope Gregory XI left Avignon in 1376 to re-establish the papacy in Rome.
