Pommard AOP – Domaine Boussey – red

39,50 €

Pommard has been grown in the area for several centuries. The name Pommard comes from Pomona, goddess of fruit and gardens.

The wine has a lovely cherry-red colour. The nose is complex and powerful, with predominant notes of fruit (morello cherry, citrus, fresh fig), forest and spice. On the palate, it is powerful and robust, with flavours of cherry and spice and well-integrated tannins. Well balanced.

Perfect with beef steak, furred or feathered game, slow-cooked poultry and cheeses such as Epoisses.

Description

Domaine de Boussey has been handed down from father to son for 5 generations. It is located in the heart of the famous Burgundy region, in the small village of Monthelie, near Meursault, Pommard and Beaune.

Laurent and Karen Boussey now run the family estate and have been farming their own vines since 2003. Laurent’s parents, Denis and Claudette, have retired, and Laurent has taken over the whole estate to carry on more than 60 years of family winegrowing know-how. The vineyard now covers a total of 15 hectares of vines spread across 24 different appellations.
